In November of 2003, my wife, Rhonda, and I felt the Lord prompting us to step down from the youth ministry at Resurrection Life in Muskegon. This decision was very serious for us since we believed that we were called to the ministry and would spend the rest of our lives serving God in this capacity. To know that God wants you to leave where you’re at when you don’t know where your going was going to be a leap of faith. It also gave us a great understanding of Abraham and his faith that he had in leaving his homeland. We decided long ago that we would be obedient to God regardless of our understanding and so we stepped down from the youth ministry.

Now the LORD had said to Abram:

"Get out of your country,

From your family

And from your father's house,

To a land that I will show you.

Genesis 12:1

It did not take long for God to reveal His desires within us. Within weeks we were being pulled to Ludington in a variety of areas. As Rhonda and I prayed about starting a new work in the Ludington area, God quickly confirmed it through several other people. The only question was how. But God already had that worked out. So when Pastor Ron Rands, from the Resurrection Life Church in Muskegon asked for a meeting with us and said his church would like to send us, we knew God’s calling was there. From that moment forward our hearts were turned to the people of the Ludington area.

In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,

Ephesians 1:11-12

Since that time, God’s works for  this church have been nothing short of miraculous. With our original services being held at the West Shore Community College we knew in order to fulfill the call God had for this body we needed a permanent home and soon. God was quick to provide, within weeks we had a lease for our new 10,000 square foot facility right on US 10 as you enter Ludington. Wow. God is good!

God continually blesses this work and all who seem to be touched by it. We are truly excited to be here and look forward to serving God and his people in this wonderful land.
